Brockway wins, Beavers fall (2024)

MARIENVILLE — The Brockway Rovers baseball team snapped a four-game skid on Wednesday in emphatic fashion with a 12-0 win over Forest Area in five innings to cap off the Rovers’ regular season.

Brockway scored four runs in the top of the second and six more in the top of the third to put the game away as senior Dylan Bash paced the way at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double, a triple and four RBIs. Teammate Raiden Craft was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Zayden Faith got the win on the mound as he tossed all five innings, allowing just three hits, no runs and one walk while striking out six. Faith also was 2-for-2 with two runs scored, a double and an RBI at the plate.

Brockway ends its regular season with a 7-12 record.

BELLEFONTE — The DuBois Beavers baseball team ended its regular season with a 15-2 loss in five innings to the Bellefonte Red Raiders.

Bellefonte got to the Beavers early with a 10-run first inning that doomed DuBois to a 7-12 regular season mark.

Three errors also allowed eight of the 15 Red Raider runs to be unearned on the afternoon as Tyler Chamberlin took the loss for DuBois, tossing just two-thirds of an inning before Hunter Allman came on in relief for one and 1/3 innings.

Samson Deeb then pitched the final two while not allowing a hit and walking two while striking out three.

At the plate, Danny Dixon hit a solo home run while Trey Wingards also was 1-for-2 with the team’s over RBI.

BUTLER — Both the DuBois Central Catholic and Moniteau baseball teams squared off on what was supposed to be a doubleheader at Pullman Park in Butler on Wednesday, with the nightcap being Brookville and Karns City.

But after a 3-3 score at the end of four innings, Mother Nature had the last laugh and halted the evening.

Until that point, DCC was led by Brayden Zatsick at the plate as he was 2-for-2 with an RBI. Carter Himes also had an RBI double and Trenton Miller was 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Brayden Fox tossed the first two and 2/3 innings, allowing three hits and three runs (two earned) while walking five and striking out two. Himes then threw the next one and 1/3 innings, allowing one hit, no runs and no walks while fanning three.
