Taming Boss Monsters
If you are trying to tame a boss monster, it is recommended to save beforehand so that you wont waste all your precious items, since they generally have a low taming chance. Some boss monsters also are untamable, as you will see below. Keep in mind that apart from the already mentioned taming tips, you have to lower the HP of a boss monster enough to let it enter it's second fighting phase, in order for taming being successful.
Unlike normal monsters, boss monsters will only accept specific items in the taming process. The boss monsters with their corresponding items are listed below in the order as they appear in the game.
Nine-Tailed Fox
Item Drop | Nine-Tailed Fox Bell (50%), Earth Crystal Fragment (30%), Fur (S) (10%) |
Taming Items | Nine-Tailed Fox Bell, Tempura Udon, Tempura, Starfall Strawberries |

Location | Whispering Woods |
I highly recommend to tame this one as soon as possible. Apart from it's cool looks it is also one of the fastest rideable monsters in the game and can be obtained right at the beginning.
